UPDATES
October 14, 2007
Yes, yes. I know it's been a really long time. But we're still active at Unseen Hands. And, actually a lot has happened since last time.
James is now in LA along with DJ. He's working as an Assistant Editor at Echo Entertainment, a production company that mainly specializes in shows on the Veria Network (Dish channel 281). He's finished up editing a feature from Chicago and is currently looking for more freelance work.
DJ has finished a feature, STALKER, with his students in his class. It's a great sophomore effort from the collaboration of him and his students. We can't wait to see what's happening this year.
Pre-production on FALLS is starting. The script is in the final stages of being worked upon. It's only a matter of time before the boys sign off and pre-production begins.
More later . . .
May 28 2006,
I know, I know. You're wondering where the heck the album and Scarecrow are. Well, I've spent too much time listening to the album to finish Scarecrow.
No, seriously, expect the album uploaded with in the week as well as Scarecrow being finished. We're so close to the final cut and it looks awesome.
Stay tuned,
UHP

*Blows off dust*
Hey. Yeah, I know. It's been awhile. Well, we've been busy! Okay, not really. But . . . I got nothing.
No seriously, some stuff's been happening while it appeared we were away.
THE ALBUM IS DONE!! Yes, you read that correctly. DJ has totally completed master Avenger and is currently in the process of packaging the CD and sending it to James, who will then throw it up here, for all the fans (all 14 of 'em) to listen to. Sweet.
SCARECROW is near completion. The rough edit is done, there's still a bit of tweaking, but you can expect it up with in the next month or so. From what we've seen, it's one of the best looking and best acted shorts yet. We think you'll like it. A lot.
A MESSAGE FROM BATMAN has taken the internet by storm. James uploaded it to Youtube.com and since then, it has received more than 270,000 views with nearly 1000 comments. It was actually mentioned in the LA Times. You can read the article HERE. Pretty sweet! Will there by a sequel? We're not sure yet, still sorta working out the logistics.
James has been working on movie sets in Chicago. He recently gripped for a 35mm short out of USC. He's learning more and more of all aspects of the movie making process. This summer he's going to spend 4-weeks in LA learning to become a master editor.
DJ has been writing and is currently shooting a short film with his Drama class. James is waiting patiently to edit it and get it up as soon as possible.
Corey is still in talks with some corporate gigs back in Eugene. There'll be more info there when it comes.
That's all for this moment, but there will be more very shortly.
UHP FOREVER!
December 21st
Wow! Yes we are alive. It's been awhile since our last update but don't fret Unseen Hands fans, we've been working.
RIPPLE has been completed. Click on the link to check it out. Also, ScareCrow editing his been put on slight hiatus as James works diligently on the 2nd NP2K film/studio festival. All members have their movies shot and turned into the Editors Hands. Still, you can expect a Directors version of each film some time in the near future.
DJ has finished the mastering process of the album. Or, at least what could be done with it. Apparently there was a timing error through both of the programs and such. That, coupled with James's inability to play in time, made syncing everything together a tedious and near impossible task. What does that mean for you? You'll have to listen to us live. And, you can still hear our music, just not quite the mastered version we were hoping for. To get a taste, head over to www.myspace.com/Unseenhands. Add us as a friend and let us know what you think!
Corey worked on an industrial commercial for an Art Gallery over the last few months. It's great to see that he's still working hard.
DJ's been writing like a crazy writing guy. Currently he's working on the Pilot episode for Ar Yung Hiro, that James and Corey may shoot while James heads back to Eugene for a week.
James has a small role in an independent film shooting in Chicago with a few more opportunities down the line. He's actively searching for work to gain experience and connections.
Well, that's about it for now.
Until next time kiddies,
UHP FOREVER!!
October 30th,
Things are rolling the Unseen Hands world. All three members are hard at work in pre-production on their respective films. DJ works hard down in LA. Corey preservers in Veneta and James barrels forward in Chicago. All three films are very different from each other, and it will be very interesting to see how each looks when finished.
While working, James has applied for two roles in Local independent features. He won't know if he gets any parts until late November. In the mean time, check out a MESSAGE FROM BATMAN, the first Chicagoian Unseen Hands film.
Also, the SHORTS area has been updated, so check there for some new films on-line, such as HIGH SCHOOL TERROR.
Until next time,
UHP, out!
September 24th
Things are getting crazy in the world of Unseen Hands. James is in Aurora, moving like hotcakes trying to get a Directors Cut of RIPPLE ready for release. Meanwhile DJ is in LA editing away at SCARECROW. Corey, not to be caught behind has landed a corporate video gig producing a commercial for a west coast Art Museum
On top of all this, all three have entered in to the second NP2K.com on-line studio film festival. If you recall, James entered the first one and was chosen to both write and direct a short film. His director quit, so the film he wrote never got made. However, the film he shot, RIPPLE, did get made and finely edited by Teague (Fig) Chrystie. You can view the film HERE (note, Fig title it, The Box).
Where does that bring us? Okay, all three members of Unseen Hands, Corey, James and DJ were selected to direct a film during this studio festival. James was also selected to edit a film. This means that for the first time in the history of Unseen Hands, all three will be in direct competition with each other and all three will direct a film without the others present. This is a landmark opportunity in the Unseen Hands Universe. The scripts and ideas are in the process of being written and soon all three will be shooting their films.
We'll try and keep you updated as much as possible towards their progress, so keep checking the site and keep enjoying our films.
Don't forget to leave feedback in our FORUM!!
Thanks,
The UHP Staff.
UNSEEN HANDS FOREVER!!
September 5th,
Are we still here? That might be the question you're asking yourself. And the answer is a bit complicated:
James officially moved off to Chicago (Aurora actually, but close enough) and started teaching there. He's working on a directors version of The Box (Ripple), a project shot during the NP2K.com Studio Film fest. You can see the original version at NP2K.com, just browse the forums under: Studio Film Contest. Expect the directors cut released in early winter/late fall.
DJ has officially set up shop in L.A. (Brea actually, but close enough) and is teaching English and Drama at a private school. He's happy with the move and now has ample time to concentrate on screen plays. He's currently editing SCARECROW, the last film shot in Eugene. Expect an early winter release.
Corey stayed in Eugene (Veneta actually, but close enough) and is continuing with Unseen Hands there. He has lined up a possible corporate video gig which we are all excited about. Stay tuned for further information.
In answer to the question, all three members of Unseen Hands are remaining busy, hard at work doing what they love. Making Movies and Music.
Out, UHP forever.
July 18,
Yes, we're still alive and still kickin! Summer plans have been thrown around and mashed up and here's were we currently stand: The album is near completion. Corey still needs to re-voc a couple of tracks and DJ needs to lay down a few solo's, but it's 90% done. If you haven't, listen to BLISTER and get a little taste of what to expect.
On the movie front, we might start offering our old movies on DVD for you to add to your collection. Contact us through email if you're interested.
There will be no feature length film shot this summer. We are all very bummed. But with James moving to Chicago on the first of August, and DJ going two short weeks later to Los Angeles, a full length production just isn't happening. We will have a couple of shorts available.
RIPPLE, written by Nick Bradburry from NP2K.com has completed shooting. All those involved had fun and did an excellent job. Under the cinematography of DJ, this movie looks great! James directed and both him and DJ starred along side Katie, DJ's wife. Teague Chrystie is editing this flick as per the NP2K contest, but expect a Directors Cut shortly after August.
We are also shooting a short suspense/thriller to be filmed this coming week and edited shortly after. We'd like to get it up and able for viewing before James leaves. So, keep hanging with us, and check back often.
Also, don't be afraid to leave us a comment in the FORUM!
Word,
UHP forever!
June 8,
Corey's back!!!!!!!! He took some time to find himself, and he did. And he found out that finding himself is with James and DJ, except they're leaving. But we won't focus on that right now, instead we've got NEWS, NEWS, NEWS!!!!
First things first, the Album is rolling. Not to mention, Rocking too! We're putting up a rough mix of Blister, just to give you a taste of what we're doing. We've also put two B-sides, a couple of Unseen Hands classics that didn't make the album cut. Look for them under the Music section. Let us know what you think in the forum.
On the movie front. Pre-production is heavy on Ripple Box, a joint effort between NP2K.com members and Unseen Hands. James is helming the direction with DJ and his lovely wife Katie acting. James will also act. Corey is going to stay behind the scenes (not quite ready for the lime-light) help with all that. We're shooting this Saturday, and it should be a blast. (Hopefully no one dies, like last time. Sorry Grandma.)
Finally, everything is moving right ahead for James and DJ moves this August. James will leave in early August for Aurora, Illinois and DJ will leave Mid-August for Los Angeles, California. Both are sad to go.
Don't worry, we've got a literal slew (it smells bad) of projects lined up for this short summer.
UHP For Life!
April 21,
A message from Corey:
"I would like to thank everyone for their support and I hope it will continue in the future. Thanks to FC for the new website look. Thanks to Dj and James. You guys are my Brothers and I love being creative with you. I will miss you both when you are gone but I understand we all have our own lives to lead. Hopefully we will meet again somewhere down the road. I also want to say I'm sorry to the both of you. One for not being around much the past month and a half and two for failing to raise any money for upcoming projects. I did my best and it bit me in the ass. I'm really not sure about working on anything else this year. I feel like the wind has been takin out of my sails and I'am not at all in the mood to continue down this path. I.E the record and the movies. My heart is just not in it right now. I need to focus on getting my money back wich totals around $10,000 and making my wife happy for right now. So until futher notice I will be taking a leave of absecnce from Unseen Hands. Not from you both as friends just on the creative end of things. Sorry if this isn't what you want to hear but it is what I feel I need to do.
I love you all
--Corey"
So what does this mean for Unseen Hands Productions? Probably no full length feature this summer. We still have hopes of finishing the album, but that will depend on Corey being able to get his life back in order. James is working on a script through the np2k.com studio film festival, he will also be shooting a short along with DJ for that same festival. DJ is still going to write falls, because IT WILL be a kick-ass script. The two plan on doing some other shorts to work and continue to build their craft. Don't count Corey out folks, he loves this stuff too much.
